More than just the digital files…
For the last few years, I have been doing my best to give my clients everything they want … the digital files. As a photographer, this is a very touchy subject. You don’t want to just give away the digital files because then you won’t make any sales on prints, albums, etc. To counter this, I have set up all of my collections to include the digital files AND an album, something I so strongly believe in. Prints will come and go off your walls but an album is something that will be with you in 50+ years when you are showing
But lately I have noticed that by not really offering all these prints and products online, my clients have to go somewhere else… and usually somewhere cheap, which means the quality of my work is at the mercy of Walgreens print lab or the like. Nothing against Walgreens or anything, I just want to make sure the photographs I provide for you will last for generations… not just until the paper fades. I feel like I have been doing all of my clients a huge disservice by not helping them create beautiful artwork for their home. Some of them never even end up getting the photos off the
USB drive. : (
So, I have been doing some serious business soul searching lately and I’ve decided that I am going to start doing in-home ordering sessions for all family sessions! YAY! : ) As a professional in this industry, I feel responsible in a way for helping my clients with the whole experience, even if that means driving to their home to help them decide exact what prints and products they’d like. Plus, I think it will be fun! I love my clients and it will just be another chance to spend some time with them!
Happy Thursday from me and my little office assistant!
