July 3rd was my step mom’s birthday up at our orchard/vineyard in Hood River, Oregon. For those of you who have step parents, you know it’s not always the easiest relationship to build but I can honestly say that I am so very thankful for our relationship. : ) She has done so much for me and supported me in so many ways, especially with my business and photography. I couldn’t be more grateful. It was such an honor to get to share this special day with her and document it for those who couldn’t be there. Enjoy!
All the food was provided by Marcie Wily and John Helleberg of Brian’s Pourhouse’s, which was absolutely fabulous!
The view of Mt. Hood from our backyard …
If you’ve ever met my little sister Mia, then you know this girl LOVES parties! This is her happy place.
Robin Dickenson, another photographer at the party, snapped this one of my dad and me. : ) SO grateful. Oh how I love my dad!
This lovely event was planned by Nell’s dear friend Leith of I Do Events. Isn’t that just the cutest name for an event company?
After cocktails, everyone headed into the orchard for dinner under the pear trees.
Guard dog #1: Bonnie.
Guard dog #2: Seamus.
I think Seamus wanted some dinner too.
My dad gave the sweetest toast that made Nell tear up… Okay, I cried too.
It was such a touching, not to mention beautiful, party; an orchard full of 60 guests, all there to celebrate with the birthday girl. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Nell so happy! I just wish the rest of our family had been able to come too.
